Hey everyone! Remember me? It’s been almost a month since I last blogged, and I figured it was time to give a much needed update, since we’re now deep into the dog days of summer and I’ve received a few comments asking when I would blog again!
Hey everyone! So, as the title says, I am going to be taking a break from blogging for a bit. Everything seems to be piling up on me at once right now, and I can’t balance blogging and getting my work and meetings done. In these next few weeks, I have NHS meetings, NHS volunteering, finals, doctors appointments, award ceremonies, a prom for my brother’s class, and multiple projects due, not to mention a scholarship essay.
I don’t deal with stress well – I may look calm and collected on the outside, but I eventually blow. Yesterday, I just started crying when I got a notification about another meeting, because I just felt so overwhelmed and stretched too thin. While I love my blog and I adore writing and reading y’all’s posts, it is the end of Junior year, and my grades and organizations take priority at the moment.
This should not last long – just until I get caught up on everything and I feel less frazzled and strained. Besides, I haven’t been coming up with as many post ideas as usual, and I often find myself getting frustrated when trying to brainstorm. That does not help my already high stress level, and I don’t want my blog to be another responsibility or hassle.
I’m leaving y’all with a blog survey. The last one I conducted was in September, and with summer coming up, I figured that it would be a good time to see what the readers are looking for so that I can make changes or work on things during the break from school. I’ve inserted the link below – it’s only 10 questions and I would really appreciate y’all’s feedback!
Again, thank you all for being such faithful and supportive readers. I would not be who I am today without y’all!
I’ll be back soon, but until then, enjoy this gif that accurately describes my feelings right now.
I often reflect back on my experiences in treatment and think about how weird some of them really were. Obviously, no one expects treatment to be like some fun summer camp, but I did not think that it would be nearly as strict or as bizarre as it was. It’s not often you get reprimanded for flushing a toilet, but it happened quite a bit to me in the span of a few months.
Anyway, I was thinking about one instance in particular that involves nachos and ensure, and while there is no true point to this story, I figured that I would write about it here, since I have no wonderful recovery wisdom to share with you on this dreary Tuesday.

Hey everyone! We are officially halfway through this month – how crazy is that? Time flies when you’re
stuck in school for 7 hours doing nothing 5 days a week having fun! With May also comes the heat, which is not fun. I’m always cold, so the heat itself doesn’t bother me as much as the humidity. I hate walking outside and feeling like the air is suffocating me (and my hair.)
I haven’t done a Currently post for this month yet, so I figured it was time to update y’all and what I’ve been doing and the things that have occupied my interest!

Hello everyone, and happy Sunday! I hope all of you are having a lovely weekend. This week dragged on and on for ages, and I definitely needed these two days to recuperate. I’m just counting down the days until school is out and I don’t have to do ridiculous busy work anymore – 14 days!
As always, I wanted to share some great links I found with y’all this week. I hope you enjoy!
Hey guys! Let me tell you, that AP exam yesterday wiped me out. I didn’t think that I would have any more energy to write a blog post, but to my surprise, a blog post idea popped into my head as I was waiting for everyone else to finish the essay portion of the exam. I was thinking about test scores and numbers in general, and I had a sudden realization that I honestly should have had a long time ago.
Since it’s Thursday, I usually do a Thinking Out Loud post, but in a list format. Today, I’m still Thinking Out Loud with Amanda, but I’m just going to rant a little bit about a single subject. Bear with me!
Hey guys! Any other Juniors out there taking the AP English exam today? If so, good luck to you, and if not, I envy you. As much as I love writing, 3 essays in two hours is a little too stressful for me. I’m hoping I do well, but you just never know.
Anyway, since it’s Wednesday, I figured that I would share some of my recent meals and snacks with you all today. I have some new buys and some old favorites, so I hope you all find some inspiration from my food!
I’ve had a lot of interesting experiences due to my eating disorder. I’ve had a plethora of ignorant comments thrown my way, I’ve had to choke down food that I never thought I would ever have to eat, and I’ve met more doctors than I care to admit. My eating disorder has made my life interesting, to say the least.
One of the most appalling things that has happened to my family and me was when a CPS agent showed up at the door – because someone on Instagram, someone who knew I was recovering, called them and reported my mother for neglect/abuse. I don’t usually share this information with people, because frankly, it’s embarrassing, but I figured it was time to get it out there.

Hey guys! Happy Monday! How are you all this morning? I’m just counting down the days until school is out – I can stay at home, watch Netflix, and blog my little heart out. Of course, I also need to start working on college applications and NHS hours, but for now, I’m focusing on the fun things!
Anyway, as usual, I read some wonderful posts this week, and I wanted to share them with you all today. I hope you enjoy!
I’m going to be pushing back my usual Link Love post in favor of a special tribute to my mom. It’s Mother’s Day here in the U.S., and while I try to celebrate her every day, I always make sure that I really express my love and thankfulness on this day dedicated to mothers all around the country. In honor of my mom, I wrote a poem. She has always encouraged me in my writing (and really, my life in general), and I wanted to do something heartfelt and personal this year.
If you have a mother or mother figure out there, make sure to reach out to her today to let her know how special she truly is. After all, none of us would be here without our birth-givers, and it’s important to remember all of the sacrifices they’ve made and the love they have provided over the years.
Okay, without further ado, here is my poem!
